Sandy Hook Fishing Reports

Great crew out with us today. We had Brian, Brian and Rick out with us and it was one of those days that we had good fishing and great laughs. I really had an awesome day with this crew. Thanks again guys! We fished close to home using live bunker. The guys landed 4 bass keeping 3 for the table and releasing one. Big fish of the day was around 30 lbs. Awesome sight to see these big bass blowing up our baits on the top of the water.

On Monday June 6th, we had out Joe with his two sons Joe Jr. and Alex, and their friend Colin for a morning of striped bass fishing. We ran down the beach and trolled Tony Maja bunker spoons as well as a G&H Mojo rig down the middle. We caught 6 keeper striped bass that were all in the 20 pound class. Our biggest fish of the day was 35 pounds. The fish were not picky as they ate all different colors. We headed back to the dock at 11am with plenty of meat for the charter and sore arms.

Ok we are sailing now as much as possible from our dock in Fair Haven, NJ for tuna, marlin and mahi! The offshore canyons have been pretty good with all kinds of tuna (big eye, yellowfin and longfin tuna) We are a quick ride from Sandy Hook and Raritan Bay from the fishing grounds.

Please give me a call-732-996-6372 and we can get a trip together.

Captain Brian Rice

So we have been fishing pretty hard the past few days. Thursday saw a pretty good pick of bass and blues on Rapala xrap deep diving plugs. On Friday we saw less bass and more big blues also on the troll. On Saturday we only manages one bass and a lot of bluefish on bait and on the troll. We are hearing reports of big pods of bait moving up the beach so it shouldn't be long before we see a big change in the bass fishing.

We had a crew trip on Saturday consisting of: Gary Caputi (iFish Marketing), Steve Miller (American Fishing Wire/HiSeas), Captain Paul "Walnuts" Eulner (angler) and his cousin Jody out shark fishing on Saturday. We had this 225 pound fish and released another around 120 pounds as well.
We released a brown shark as well

Steve Miller from AFW with a 120 pound thresher that we released. The new Shimano Terez rail rods matched with Tiagra 30 reels performed flawlessly and really were perfect for these fish.
